BUG Fix Verification Project
' Performing Bug Fix Verification and QA Test suite development for
Informix online engines version 7.xx and IUS (Informix Universal
Server).
' Develop 2ndGen tests in ESQL/C and Bourne Shell on Sun Sparc running
Solaris 2.5.

various bug related behavior.
' Job also involves interaction with other members of the team on code
review and efforts related to closure of bugs.
' Work with features such as fragmentation, GLS, onarchive, ontape and
onload.
BuildSite Project
' A database was designed to store information about `Products and
Manufacturers. Was involved from designing the ER Diagram till
populating the database with live data. The back-end database was
integrated with the web to provide graphical-interface to search the
database according to: Manufacturer, CSI Index, Product Type, Key Word.
The Front end was done using HTML, and in order to make HTML pages
communicate with the database CGI scripts were written in Perl.
' Besides this a Registration module using HTML and CGI was put in place
so that users may visit the site and register, should they desire so.
Once a user fills up the HTML form to register the e-mail address of the
said user is piped to file so that "Mass-Mailing-To-Interested-User" can
be done.
' The statistics are also being logged, that is, who is visiting the
site, what browser they use, where they are coming from. The information
is recorded continuously.
' Several static-html-pages were designed too, to provide information
about 'company profile' 'history', 'employment' and so on.
Environment: Sun Sparc, Solaris 2.5, HTML, CGI, Perl, Informix
BITS Project
' Developed Bug Information Tracking System (BITS) for Creatus. It's a
WWW based system, integrating INFORMIX On-line database engine with Web.
' Wrote Perl & CGI-Scripts to Query the database and create HTML pages
dynamically.
' Designed and maintained the user interface forms using
HTML/JavaScript.
' Wrote PERL scripts to permit free form ascii text to be stored in the
database.
Environment: Sun Sparc, Solaris 2.5, HTML, CGI, Perl, Informix

test of RAID storage devices.
' Created test scripts to verify new data movement & data storage
features/functions.
' Debugged errors generated from system level tests.
' Used a robot to test SCSI, PCI and emerging IC's.

' Studied the daily ongoing operation in the plant.
' Worked in Computer Department to automate different operations.
PROJECTS:
Webdbl
Implemented "webdbl" to integrate World Wide Web with data base. This
uses Web as "front-end" to provide access to a Relational data base.
Made use of WebDBC (a command line application) to establish
connectivity between Web and SQL database. The basic idea was to
generate dynamic HTML pages whose contents were built on-fly when users
queried the database.
Aircraft/Airport Modeling
It was an Object Oriented Database Design and Implementation project.
The aircraft model at its top level captured generic structure and
behavioral properties, that applied to all aircrafts. The model was
structured in an inheritance hierarchy which consisted of different
types of aircraft. It also featured generic classes that capture
notions such as sets or queues. The project was implemented in 02
system.
RAS
Study, analysis & implementation of Roster Assignment System for
Pakistan International Airlines. Studied the on going manual procedure
to generate the Roster. Designed a database & application to automate
the whole process. The system is currently used by Pakistan
International Airline.
8088 based system
Implemented a 8088 based stand alone system.
LDS labs
Designed Logic Design & Switching labs for 2nd year students.
OSP
Implemented process scheduling algorithm in OSP. Verified and compared
the results to select the optimal algorithm.
EDUCATION
Master of Science in Computer Science
