Re: CONVERT C-ISAM FILES

Providing you are working with fixed length records and character fields, you could use the Unix dd facility. I think you specify Input Block size (ibs=) as your record length and an output record separator - Carriage Return. I forget the exact syntax, its been a while. If you are working with non-character fields, you need a data conversion tool which allows you to specify the type and length of fields. Today C/S has such a facility, runs over several O/S and databases also C-Isam, Sco-Isam, X-Isam and D-Isam. Today is supplied by CP Software group www.cpsg.com.au. Probably several other tools out there too. If this is a bit of overkill, you may consider writing a bit of C. Check out the C-ISAM programmers manual I believe is available at Informix on line. -- Paul White paulwh@masterpiece.alphalink.com.au Christophe BADET <Christophe.badet@wanadoo.fr> wrote in article <6rhal6$g21$1@platane.wanadoo.fr>... > I SEARCH A TOOL TO CONVERT C-ISAM FILES TO ASCII. > > HELP ME ... > > C.BADET > > >
