Hi All I am trying to find the best way to get some result back to Stored Procedure running executable which make database i/o. I would like to use temp tables. I wanted to know what difference between normal tables in db and temp tables? Regards Igor
Temp tables exist only for the current session's lifetime and are not excessable by any other session. Also temp table names are not part of the global object name space and so multiple users may create the same temp table name concurrently without problems. Art S. You can use exit status of your executable to return result to SP. You can read result from static tables in context of this exit status. Second way use unique session identifier of user thread that executes specified SP. -- Andrew Svikhnushin Inist Ltd. I would say make sure you use WITH NO LOG on the CREATE TEMP TABLE statement , if you can be sure you don't need to perform transactions on the temp table.
