Informix Locking Questions ???

I have a few questions regarding Informix locking (I'm not an Informix newbie and I'm kind of ashamed that I have to ask these questions - I've been to the classes, but this wasn't covered). We're running 6.00 on HP/UX (duh). 1. Does Informix do deadlock detection - we've observed circumstances that appear to be deadlocks between threads and they just sit there (no reads/writes/ locks). 2. How (if at all) does Informix timeout waiting locks - we've also observed circumstances where a thread that is waiting seems to wait forever.
