dbexport madness
Posted in 1995
Hello, I had to export my database for various reasons ( Seems like Informix's
tech support people like it so much, that they tell me to do it for almost
everything, even though I've got hundreds of megs and lots of users dependent
on the database). Anywaaaayy, since the database is getting so large, I
exported it to tape. I had tried to export it to another filesystem, but
ran out of space. I then dropped the database, and tried the dbimport. After
a few tables, it gave me an error saying tht the number of columns didn't
match. So I had to import it from what was exported to the other filesystem
and restore whatever was missing. I used the following to export it to
tape:
dbexport -c maindb -t /dev/rmt/0 -b 32 -s 5000000 -f maindb.imp
Any clues, why this would happen?
