RE: segmentation fault with isql
Posted in 2008
Thanks for the hint,
seems to be the case, this instance has 2 databases with 2129 and 5121 tables.
An other instance (the one that works fine) has only 405 tables.
Probably limit of 2048 reached.
Also checked with other installations, all having less than 2048 tables and
working fine.
Best regards,
Jacques Lapeire

I was able to create 9000+ tables and still be able to perform both listing
and selection operation on Solaris but with 7.32.xC1 product.
I see an old customer case# 370150 (and 10 others) of defect# 157777 that
might have fixed this issue in 7.32.xC1.
157777 ISQL WILL COREDUMP WITH LARGE NUMBER OF TABLES TRYING TO GENERATE A FORM

Hi Forum, any ideas about the following problem ?
(created this again on ids-forum, first sent it to classics-forum, sorry)
Platform Solaris 8 on sparc, IDS 9.40 , ISQL 7.31
We had an instance with an existing database.
We had a similar database (same name) on an other system.
On the other system we did a dbexport and transfererd the data (complete
directory).
On the actual system we renamed the directory and the .sql file and imported
the new database.
Now we have the following issues :
isql new-db - table - info
No tables displayed, status-message : running... Segmentation fault
(coredump)
isql new-db - select count(*) from systables running fine (5121 tables
found)
isql existing-db - table - info
Tables displayed, selecting one table : segmentation fault.
Any help is appreciated.
Thx,
Jacques Lapeire
