Problems with SET EXPLAIN ON and UNLOAD statements
I have two problems with INFORMIX-OnLine 5.0.
1) If I run such statements:
{
{ DEFINE my_var CHAR(5)
{
{ LET my_var = "ABCDE"
{
{ UNLOAD TO "my_unl" SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE some_field = my_var
{
program interrupt with message:
SQL statement error number -202
An illegal character has been found in the statement
This have a place for both I4GL and R4GL both version 4.10.UC1.
But if I run so:
{
{ UNLOAD TO "my_unl" SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE some_field = "ABCDE"
{
it is all right !
Can I pass variable my_var to UNLOAD statement or not ?
2) When I run SET EXPLAIN ON statement for I4GL or R4GL or ISQL I have
such results:
581: Error loading message file
The file sqexplain.out, which was formed, have 0 size.
INFORMIX ERROR MESSAGES guidebook is advising consult with person who
installed the INFORMIX software. But he to say "OK" about installation.
What is message file about? What is directory of this message file?
I suppose all message files are in /informix/msg/ directory, aren't they?
Another messages, for example "There are no more rows in the direction
you are going", is displayed normally. Is it another message file?
I use UNIX SVR4 v.6.2.03, and hardware DRS 6000 sparc
International Computer Limited (ICL) manufactured.
