Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
A brief opinion exchange on why people dislike DB2. Mark Denham suggested it is a Big Blue product, not DBA effort. Neil Truby said he met a sentiment that IBM made Informix non-viable so DB2 is unacceptable, while Andrew Hamm thought customers more mature. Obnoxio The Clown made sarcastic remarks. No technical content.

Being king of complexity, all RDBMS require fewer DBA's than Oracle.....
I don't think that is necessarily the reason for disliking DB2. I think
there are probably many different reasons. I would suspect that being a Big
Blue product could be high on the list.

You might think that I couldn't possibly comment.

This goes back to an argument of a few months ago. My personal experience
is that there is some of this sentiment about: "IBM has made Informix
non-viable for me: I'm sure as hell not going to use DB2". Others - Andrew
Hamm? - would have us believe that customers are more mature than that.
(Some of mine aren't!).

Yeah, I just saw three Australian pigs fly past my window.
