We were having some problem with an NT server that has an Informix database. The tech that was working on it did not know that Informix IDS 7.30 does not run on with SP4. After installing SP4 the database would not run, as reader of this group know all to well. We have so far un-installed SP4, re-installed Windows NT 4.0, reapplied SP3 and the Informix database software. Our server has a FAT partition where the NT system resides and an NTFS partition where every thing else is stored. The engine seems to start in the services manager, but dies without any events or messages that I can find. Does any one know what to do from here. I'd like to thank Informix for the notice that SP4 should not be installed on servers running Informix, NOT! Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Shannon
I was able to install 7.3 TC-1 on NT4 Enterprise Edition SP4 with no problems. Got it up and working and started converting SQL Server databases to it. -- jarrodr [at] province [dot] com Shannon Sellers wrote in message <78u48r$bmq@chronicle.concentric.net>... >We were having some problem with an NT server that has an Informix database. >The tech that was working on it did not know that Informix IDS 7.30 does not >run on with SP4.
