Symantec Cafe Pro (JAVA) Support for Informix

Which, at this point in time, is nonexistent. They have drivers for Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server natively. No Informix. I asked them, and they have no current plans to add Informix. Having had a *brief* play/look at the Java toolkits around, this one looks like the best available; IMO simpler to use than NE (no VC++ for starters). Not to mention a lot more affordable. Java looks a hell of a lot like NE, so I like it and feel comfortable using it. Still early days yet for building production systems, but I want to do some experimenting. For God's sake, Informix, get support for your servers available in these third party tools. I do *not* want to screw around with ODBC drivers to JDBC drivers to.... just to build database apps. </rant> Peter Wiley
