record locking in Delphi???
For those of you using Delphi to code your GUI front-ends to
informix databases:
How do you acquire a lock on a specific record in Delphi?
In 4GL, you declare an update cursor:
declare lock_curs cursor with hold for
select * from mytable
where mytable.unique_key = somevalue
for update
open lock_curs
fetch lock_curs into something
If all this is successful, you now have a record lock. To remove the lock,
close the cursor.
Now, how to do it in Delphi Client/Server?
