There is always IBM's federated database product, I forget what its called but I bet it affordable :} NOT! Maybe you could use perl odbc/oledb library to connect? I am not sure whether its a view or table is to relevant, at least when I do this type of thing between IDS and MSSQL its not. Its the connection methods that are always the stickiest for us, from a stability and supportability (when somethiong changes) standpoint. I feel for you. No chance of you sticking it out and assuming some Oracle responsibilities / authority? Oracle guys are pretty high paid I here, so maybe if you make up the difference with enthusiasm they will save some money and transition you in if you have the interest and energy. Happens all the time during mergers / buy outs / etc...its always good to have an old dog around to keep the BS meters sharp. Good luck.
