Export backup while database is in ONLINE mode
Hello All,
Is it possible to take the dbexport backup while the dataabse is in On-Line
mode. if so, how is it possible?
Hi,
dbexport can be launch but it will be imlpossible tu users to connect the
database when export is working.
the only option the users can access the database is when the export is
launching on a replica database wich let users access the replica and primary
database.
You can do it on an RSS replicate only if you set up an RSS node. Not
doable on a Primary node since dbexport puts an exclusive lock on the
database and exclusives locks do not like other locks at the same time;
remember every access on a database puts a shared lock on a database
until you discoinnect from the database.

I think Art Kagel's MyExport program allows this. It's downloadable from the
iiug software depot as part of utils2_ak.
