If mirroring is enabled, it used to be possible to go into onmonitor and simply change the chunk's status. I don't know if this is still possible in the latest versions of the product. Be warned that there may be a legitimate reasons that caused the chunk to be marked down; marking it back up in such a case may lead to a disaster. > I heard, that to recover this problem is by creating a small program = > using C. You cannot run this yourself; it needs an informix advanced support tech and requires a password of the day. > another one..: > > when the logical log full, getting filled up, there also a script/small = > program to flush/making free log, without using automatic backup to = > tape. > does anybody have this program...? tbzero will sacrifice the last bunch of transactions to fake out having no transactions to roll back. This gets you up & running but at the cost of some inconsistent data in your database from transactions that should have been rolled back. tbone (Pronounced TB-one, not T-Bone ;-) will add a log to your system and set it active immediately, bypassing the protections of the usual procedures which require an archive to activate the log. Both of these utilities require a password of the day and must be performed by advanced support.
