We seem to be seeing this quite a lot with our ODBC driver too. Apart from the obvious sort of problems that DLLs have gone missing, can't be found, or aren't in the PATH, we are finding that it occurs if you have Novell Directory Services (or IntraNetWare) installed, it changes the PATH from what you think it should be.
