We are running Informix 7.3 under HP 11.0. We have run it in 32 bit and 64
bit mode. These machines are still in test mode and will not go live for a
least another month. We are testing on the K-CLASS and V-CLASS
architectures.

Susan,
Although I decided not to do this, I have looked into it. We
also tried it on
a development machine and it did not work. After making the
new size changes
to SHMMAX we tried to rebuild the kernel and it changed it
back to the max
size "SAM" wants it to be. (We did not use SAM to rebuild
the kernel). We
contacted HP and they were of no help. We eventually lost
confidence in the
procedure. The chatr command was to be ran against all the
Informix
executables, but we did not get that far. I am now looking
into 64bit
Informix on HP_UX 11.0. Informix is saying it works good but
we haven't
located anyone that is currently using it. Some of the
gui's no longer work
under 64bit, i.e. oncockpit and onperf.
