Fw: FWD: use of ISM and ONBar vs ontape

Ok Listers,
I'll digress a little. You are aware of the famous quote:
"If it ain't broke don't fix it."
I have had no problem with using ontape for our backups, however, how can I
use ontape (What command) to backup or restore one or more than one dbspace.
Currently I do a level 0 backup everynight before we start our End of Day
batch process. The application is divided into two distinct components.
Hencehas data is stored in two seperate databases. One of those databases
is pretty much static.
Only a balances update procedure is run at the end of the day.
The other database records dynamic transactions throughout the day.
I would want to use a different backup and restore strategy for the dynamic
database.
Can I implement this using ontape?
Regards,
Denmark W.

Ontape only backs up hte entire server, however, you can restore at the
dbspace level so as long as the list of dbspaces used by each database is
disjoint no problems restoring one or the other.
