I have an informix front end (screens & reports) where users can generate there own reports and screens without coding. But now I what to access other databases (oracle, sybase, ingres..etc) dynamically. I do not what to do an unload to and load from some flat file, since if there was heavy traffic I am up a creek without a paddle. So I have to create temp tables to load the data--only to have informix create a temp table of my temp table (for the scrolling cursor) --seems like a waste to me. If there is an easier way of building an interface to different back-ends then I'm not proud, I'll take a hint. riskit@bnr.ca phone (613) 763-4131 Ottawa, Ontario Canada.
