RE: A shameless plug...
Posted in 2006
I don't think it is shameless; I'd like to know more about the people I vote for or have a choice. I find it annoying to hear / read about people in about 100 words, it is difficult to get an opinion about who they are, and how serious they are / could be. I think it should apply to current board members, who should speak about what they do. For example, the most active person on the Board is certainly the person you have never heard of on this list or in many places. Cindy is our treasurer, responsible for LUGs and liaison with the CPC (Conference Planning Committee). She certainly has about 2 other dozens jobs out there, but she is too shy / modest to expose them out there. I good speak of each Board member, all do an incredible job. I did a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDRRe_1J2XE) but it does not illustrate what I do on the Board... Speaking of video, I wanted to share with you a completely new one: Informix Partners to the Rescue, see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Dbu9w5zEs. Go vote now... jgp > -----Original Message----- > From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list- > bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Ian Michael Gumby > Sent: Friday, December 08, 2006 20:20 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: A shameless plug... > > Hi, > > I'm Mike Segel. > My use of the "Gumby" alias has a long history within a certain segment of > Informix users and employees.
