Cheng-Yu, Not all middleware products require that you install the INFORMIX-CLI on your clients. There is a class of product, often called ODBC servers, that are use a single ODBC driver to connect to an ODBC server. The ODBC server has DBMS-specific libraries, not the ODBC client. Open Link, Simba, and Intersolv are three of the companies that offer this type of middleware. For others, look for (server) in the middle column of the table below: ODBC drivers, vendors, and URLs: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Ken_North/odbcvend.htm JDBC drivers, vendors, and URLs: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Ken_North/jdbcvend.htm -- ==================== Ken North =========================== http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Ken_North http://www.knorth.com (real soon now) e-mail: KenNorth@msn.com kennorth@interserv.com 71301.1306@compuserve.com Ken North Computing 2604B El Camino Real, #351 Carlsbad, CA 92008-1214 FAX: 760-729-5127 ========================================================== Cheng-Yu Hsiung <hschy@ms2.hinet.net> wrote in article <3510B16C.DE5DD998@ms2.hinet.net>... > Hi , Thomas > I always connect Informix DataBase Server(NT or UNIX) with Borland's > SQL-LINK.
