What should the name of the message file be? Error code -581 is found in the file sql.iem. However, the problem may be with one of the other engines-supplied files. Most probably, you broke the rule of TEN -- tools, engines, networks -- and installed an upgrade of the tools over the engines, thus overwriting the message file with SET EXPLAIN information in it with an older version. Either reinstall the engines over the tools, or extract the message files from the engines tape and copy/move them over the ones in $INFORMIXDIR/msg.
