Known incompatibilities between 7.20 and 9.X client software

Hi, are there know incompatibilities between Informix client software 7.20 and 9.x? We want to run a 7.20 based application on 9.x client software. If it don't works, is it possible to have both versions installed on one machine without drawbacks? TIA Joachim Engel.

It's perfectly feasible to have the 7.20 client software installed in one INFORMIXDIR and the 9.x (CSDK 2.x) client software installed in another. It would not be advisable to try putting them in the same directory.
