There is simply no better way of finding out the effect that a parameter change will have on your production system, than by applying it on your production system. In some cases, there is NO OTHER WAY! Having said that, please don't assume that I'm recommending a ten-changes-a-day sort of tinkering. Changes have to considered carefully and, if it makes sense, checked on a test system. When one is working with a stable production system, changes must be applied one at a time. However, no production system is static. As it changes through the years, its configuration will need to be adjusted. If the OL Admin. has been 'tinkering' about, I would wager that s/he'd be in a better to know how to adapt. Cheers, ---------------------- Rudy Fernandes (ICP) GIC, Kuwait ----------------------
