WWW interface to db

Hello, I am in the process of establishg a dbms for web development at shore.net We just got Oracle 7.2.3 inhouse, and I would like to get some feedback, as to how Informix weighs in....in relation to web development. I am not interested in which dbms is faster, or who has the fastest benchmarks, etc...I am interested in which provides an easy and usable interface from www to the dbms. I looked at Oracle Webserver docs and boy does it look confusing the way they want a developer to code. I did take a look at the examples posted at www.informix.com and to me, they do seem easier to use, coding to the API, etc I am interested in hearing some feedback from those who have evaluated both products, or can give insight into one or the other. I need to determine which product line to buy into...and then get on with the task of doing web development. I am a C programmer (!perl) who is used to coding to API for db access or using programs like GSQL or similar that allow end users to easily retriece data and format output without having to get a programmer involved. For more complex functions and retrievals, I would of course, have to develop the C code Thanks in advance for any input, Brandon *** bshalton@shore.net
