ACE ordering problem

The program orders the information by distributor first, then within the report on each particular distributor, I want to have the report print out the issues in chronological order. My problem is that I cannot tell the program to sort secondarily by issue because they're character fields, and they come out like this: APR DEC J/A (Jul/Aug) {alphabetical order} J/F (Jan/Feb) JUN . . . instead of like this. J/F (Jan/Feb) MAR APR {chronological order} MAY JUN . . . If anyone has any bright ideas, I'd be pleased to hear them. Thanks. -- Bonnie J.
