Need clarification of 7.2 threaded clients
Posted in 1997
The Informix-esql/c 7.2 manual describes threaded esql/c programs. It says that a process can have multiple "active" connections. One active connection per thread. However it also says that only one connection can be "current" at any time. What does this mean? Given a process with two threads, each with their own "active" connection to the same database make different select queries concurrently, will the queries be executed and acted upon concurrently by the server? Or will the first thread to submit the query cause the other thread to block until the first query returns?
