Re: Informix ISQL 1.10 and Linux

I trust you are referring to I4GL 1.10 and ISQL 2.10 -- otherwise, you are mixing two quite different releases. ISQL 1.10 was the very first SQL-based product released by Informix (RDS in those days, and SE was the only engine, and it was bundled with ISQL and I4GL...) and there was no I4GL product at all. I4GL 1.10 was released at the same time as ISQL 2.10 (and C-ISAM 3.10 and the ESQL/C version was either 2.10 or 3.10). It was a big improvement over the 1.00 version; it had things like WINDOWs in it! Anyway, we're talking about seriously ancient code -- I think this stuff was released in 1987 or 1988; it could even have been 1986. It might, conceivably, work under emulation modes, etc, but I have serious doubts about it. If it won't run, then it is a non-starter... I'd think in terms of getting upgraded Informix software. Even the 1.10.03/2.10.03 release would be better; 4.1x would be better still, especially if x was 4 or greater. Having said that, I don't know whether it will work, nor what else needs to be done to get it to work.
