NewEra (Motif) problem

Running NewEra 1.01 (Motif), the window painter seems to be having trouble with identifying some of my xpm files for picture buttons. For example, I have a button for which I have specified an enabled pic, a pressed pic, and a disabled pic. All of the xpm files for this button are contained in the same directory, and all were created the same way. However, the disabled pic is not being recognised, whilst the enabled and pressed are. The effect is that the button appears as I would expect when it is enabled, but as soon as I disable the button, the default Informix picture appears greyed out in the button. Has anyone come across this problem before, and if so, how did they solve it?
