I've monkeyed with all the DOS and DPMI : settings and still get the same message. Any info would be appreciated. Although I no longer use it, I've had many problems getting the DOS version running with anything but vanilla DOS active. I've gotten it to work successfully, but have often felt like it's more trouble than it's worth. Anyway, Informix protected mode (which is causing the error you see) talks directly to extended memory. It doesn't mix very easily with any sort of memory manager (or I imagine an OS that does the same). Try using STARTSQL to start the engine in normal mode and ISQL instead of PISQL. That may have been what the person at Informix meant when they told you to load it into low memory. Hope it helps! -- ----- Scott Morizot ----------- tmorizot@eden.com -----
