Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

You just basically have to create an sqlhosts file which has the
remote server's onsoctcp entry, enter the remote host in /etc/hosts,
and enter the service and its port in /etc/services. That is all.
Now set INFORMIXDIR to the IConnect installation directory and
INFORMIXSERVER to the servername from $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts and
everything will work as it should.
