Hi, I had an IDS 11.5 FC4 on AIX6100 and following setting for 'informix' user, Please let me know your comments about these setting especially about memory setting. Is this setting ideal for IDS? ctp001:/infx> ulimit -a time(seconds) unlimited file(blocks) unlimited data(kbytes) 131072 stack(kbytes) 32768 memory(kbytes) 32768 coredump(blocks) 2097151 nofiles(descriptors) 2000 threads(per process) unlimited processes(per user) unlimited Regards
I've not seen any answer to this...

I would wonder about the data and memory sizes - they may be too small for
comfort.
For IDS itself (oninit), there is probably not an issue; it runs with root
privileges and can exceed those limits if it needs to. For less privileged
programs, there might be problems connecting to shared memory. It is
unlikely that other programs would run into issues with the number of file
descriptors.
It can also be relevant to distinguish between the soft limits (shown) and
the hard limits (ulimit -a -H, usually).
