PB with DBDATE (IUS2000)

Hi All, I'm running IUS 2000 on Sun ultra entreprise 450, I've set the variable DBDATE on my environement with Y4MD/. In my table the data are stored under the format MM/DD/YYYY. And I get an error -1204: invalid year in date while I try to update or insert. It seems pretty obvious, but why the engine does not take care of my DBDATE setting ??? We're running also webdriver (webblade web.3.36.uc6). Any clues ???? Thx for help.
