Marien, this error can occur when your using the 'print xxx using "####"' construct. other string space eaters are using functions in if-then conditions. by this, i mean the following: if (upshift(somevar) = 'Y') then statement end if this can be replaced with: define someothervar char(#) let someothervar = upshift(somevar) if (someothervar = 'Y') then statement end if this takes more code, but uses less temp string space. hope this helps. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob Baskett Motorola, Inc.
