For a 4GL programmer, most of the NewEra language is instantly familiar to you. But there is added functionality that is totally new and alien, ie the object orientation. Why don't you ask for an evaluation of NewEra for four weeks, and try out some simple migration exercises??? If after the trial period, you are comfortable, then it is the way to go!! In my case, I needed those four weeks to began geting a hang of the environment, and started serious learning of the capability. It is a really fun experience, but I don't have the pressure of a dateline. :-) You know, my feeling is, if you can live with 4GL, NewEra should be a great experience. It strength lies in the fact that I oculd hide behind the 4GL language as I slowly re-orientate myself to the world of Objects, and the event-driven windows environment. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Calvin Ng email: <calvinng@brel.com.sg> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISCLAIMER] Read at your own risks.
