You have a different problem. Something has overwritten the root chunks with NULLS, that is unless this is the first time you are starting the engine, in which case you must start the oninit with the -i option which will overwrite the root chunk with the required reserved pages. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD THE ENGINE UP AND RUNNING AS YOU WILL LOOSE ALL DATA IN THE DATABASE. This is the first time initialization procedure ONLY! oninit -i If this is NOT the first time then something has trashed the root chunk (chunk 1) file. If this was a link, perhaps the link was broken and you can restore it. Otherwise you have no choice but to reinitialize the database server (oninit -i) anyway and start from scratch or restore from archive as the log entry suggests if you have one. Art S.
