My package utils_ak, in the IIUG Software Repository, comes with
aspace, a wrapper around onspaces that prevents multiple instances from
being given overlapping raw or cooked file space. It keeps its own
database (flat file) and includes a report script, printchunks, that
prints out a formatted report sorted by underlying file (following links
and inodes and device numbers) and offset. It gives a great view of
what parts of what devices or files are being used.
