Re: Informix and DEC (Alpha and Digital Unix)?

Bill, I am working on a DEC/Alpha platform with Informix 7.x. The assertion that the DEC platform is not first tier is certainly true. However, the folks at Informix ( especially my sales rep, Kent Sieckman, and my sales engineer, Jonathan Sinclair ) have been EXTREMELY helpful. I think part of the reason I get this much attention is that I work at MCI. Informix wants better relations with MCI, so.... Now on to the nitty-gritty. There are several items which were obviously not tested on my platform. I believe a vice presidential reeming at Informix will have fixed that little problem. Still I demand WRITTEN assurance that items have been tested on my platform before accepting them. ( I am working on the VERY safe side of things. ) The product works fine with a few minor exceptions which I can go through if you want me to. All together, I am very happy with Informix. The more DEC types in the group, the more attention we get. Also, I am not very quiet about what I want. If I have to choose again, I would go DEC and Informix. The support has been superb!
