Not using SPL or pure SQL. IFF you have IDS 9.xx or later you could write a set of UDRs (aka a Bladelet) in C or Java to create a file, open it for output and write to it. If you do so consider posting the Bladelet code to the IIUG Software Repository for others to use. Art S. Or use a Stored Procedure SYSTEM command - either pass the filename to an external program which creates it or directly use the ">" ">>" shell redirectors to output to the named file. e.g. LET filename = 'myfile'; ...
