TAPEDEV - LTAPEDEV set to dev/null infcfgcheck -a

Hi All, I have upgraded to Informix 10 from 9.40 recently on HPUX 11.23 (we are running with SAP 6.40). When I run the infcfgcheck -a on my 2 Production instances I get the TAPEDEV - LTAPEDEV as stating it is set to /dev/null. All of my other (test/dev) instances do not report that during the infcfgcheck -a run. The same procedure was followed to upgrade the test/dev as was used for production. My onconfig file does not have this information in it and the backups and logs are executing just fine. Informix Support says a db cycle will fix the problem but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior. And what you may have done short of cycling the instance. Thanks
DATBASE sysmaster;
SELECT * FROM syscfgtab
WHERE cfg_name LIKE '%TAPEDEV%'
Check the results...
TAPEDEV can be changed while the instance ir running. LTAPEDEV can also be
changed, but if the instance came online with it set to /dev/null than you
have to restart it.
How do you make backups? ontape or onbar?
With LTAPEDEV set to /dev/null you can't do logical logs backup....
infcfgcheck is not and IDS tool... if it's results are not correct you
should talk to SAP...
Regards.

I think the SAP Upgrade tool PREDBUP.SH sets LTAPEDEV to /dev/null
during upgrade to avoid issues with sysutiuls during conversion phase.
(it is uncool if onbar attempts to backup the logs while sysutils is
being converted.) .
POSTDBUP.SH should reset it though to its original value.
