Unless you are using Version 6.0, you cannot have multiple transactions, period. Therefore the commit/rollback affects the only transaction that is current. >5. I suspect that using multiple connections, probably with the WITH CONCURRENT TRANSACTION option, will achieve most of what you are seeking.
