Re: Testing Online 5.0's tbtape backup ... How?

Oddly enough, there is (at least there WAS...for 7.1x). Informix does not support the utility and I don't know if it runs on 5.0x, BUT...check with your local CSE. The utility is VERY slow. It basically runs through the archive as if doing a restore but doesn't actually write to the DB spaces. Takes about 10-20% longer than a real restore. Also, the results are NOT guarenteed. -d At 22:18 10/28/97 +0000, Duncan Napier wrote: }Hi, } }We are using Informix Online 5.0 on an IBM RS6000 running AIX 4.1.5 } and we do regular tbtape backups of the database to an 8mm backup } tape (the tape drive is an IBM 7208-001).
