4gl -- c
Posted in 1994
It is probably intuitively obvious to real c programmers, but for those of you who might dabble in it only to get some function you can't get done in 4gl: be cautious of case sensitivity. We are running compiled 4gl under AIX. For some reason, or perhaps more accurately, for no reason, I happened to use a couple of capital letters in the name of a c function. Even though the function named matched the function called from 4gl the make found the function called to be an undefined symbol. So, don't use upper case letters in c function names.
