Update to utils2_ak pending
Posted in 2013
Folks:
I have just uploaded an update to utils2_ak which is critical for anyone
using Informix v12.10. IBM changed the size of a column in the sysviews
catalog table in v 12.10 which has broken myschema. Because of this if you
do not upgrade to the utils2_ak package with a README.1st file dated today,
June 20, 2013, your VIEW definitions will be truncated which may cause
either errors or silent corrupt the view's definition on the target
server. This new version should be available for download in a few days.
Also note that the dbschema delivered with v12.10 sometimes hangs
indefinitely, so you may need to use myschema until IBM fixes this if it
affects you. This seems to be happening while processing external tables,
but it is hard to tell.. If you run into it, please report it to IBM.
For IBM lurkers, the session thread reports that it is blocked on an
sm_read or netnorm (depending on the connection type) and the current SQL
is always:
select tabid, dfentry , blobdir , clobdir from informix . sysextdfiles
where tabid = ?It consistently stops after printing the second external table of six in my
database.
