Re: Informix Message Log
Posted in 1996
John, I've handled this by writing a script which I run from a crontab once per hour. It is run by informix, and searches the message log for abnormal messages. Then it emails me the abnormal messages, removes the log file, and touches a new one. Then if I don't get any email messages, I know that my system is ok. Also it solves the problem of the log file continuing to grow. I hope this helps, Tracy > > Does anybody have a slick way of handling the informix message log? > Right now, mine's just getting bigger and bigger, and I'd like to > manage it a bit better.
