Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Asked about renaming an Informix server on Windows, Guy Bowerman said the ntutils are no longer downloadable from IBM, though still used internally. Ntchname.exe fixed the registry after a machine rename, and a later version had a rename-instance option he believed was never released externally. He sent the latest ntutils to two people and the IIUG repository.

The ntutils are no longer downloadable from the IBM website, though they
are still being updated internally and used by tech support.
I can put a zip of the latest ntutils together and see if the IIUG
software repository is willing to host them.
I'm fairly sure there wasn't a utility to rename IDS instances among
them. Ntchname.exe fixed the registry after a machine was renamed, and a
later version of this had a rename instance option, but I don't think
that version was ever on the external website.

Hi Guy,
Thanks for your answer. Can you please send me the ntutils?
