Asunto: About UPDATE triggers...
Hi ,
I am posting this question for a friend.
There's the question :
In Informix triggers (Update Trigger on a table for all columns
[default]), is there a way of finding out which columns are
getting updated ?
In Oracle, you can do IF UPDATING (column_name). You can check
by comparing pre.column_name with post.column_name. But if a
column is being updated with the old value it self then this
would not be useful.
Do you have any idea/clues/suggestions ?
TIA
Max
One possible solution will be? :
The example:
create procedure upd_table update on customersreferencing old as pre new as post
for each row when(pre.column_name <> post.column_name)
(insert .........values(..................));
Hope this helps.
