We are thinking of implementing ODBC with our Informix DB, can we limit ODBC connections to a) certain hosts (subnets etc) b) certain users (subset of users on UNIX box) c) combinations of a+b B. -- Please send administrative requests to admin@ASL.CA Brian P. However, many of the ODBC driver vendors have implemented some sort of security add-on. We do this. Take a look at: http://www.sco.com/support/ciservices/sqlr/docs/secman.html. This can certainly cope with users. Machines would be a bit more difficult: probably a networking thing and ODBC sites above the networking layer. However, we can restrict access via database, so may this could cover it. SCO SQL-Retriever. Take a look at http://www.sco.com/vision/products/sqlretriever/ for more information and a downloadable eval.
