LOAD FROM without logging

Is there a way to load a table using LOAD FROM
without logging the transaction ?
It's a fairly large table (around 10.000.000 rows)
and it's slow down performance.
I know I can change the logging mode of the database
with ontape but I need to put the engine down for
that.
Maybe there is some way to disable logging for just
one session/transaction ?
Thanks in advance,
Francois
HPL would be a good bet if you're on the 7.3x platform.

You failed to post your platform and version information so this answer
will contain lots of "if..but.." stuff.

Yes IFF you are using IDS 7.2x or later and other ways IFF you are using
7.31 or later.

BTW The presence of indexes is probably a worse offender than logging.

You can disable logging for the one table if you have IDS 7.31 or later
(ie IDS.2000 - v9.20) using: ALTER TABLE tabname TYPE( RAW ); and then
restore logging to the table with: ALTER TABLE tabname TYPE( STANDARD ).
You can also use the High Performance Loader in express mode which
bypasses the logs and data cache for maximum speed, if you have 7.2x or
later.
