I'm trying to inizialize two db istance on a Tandem(Unix), I have two
onconfig
file and I have changed ONCONFIG and INFORMIXSERVER variable to mach my
new db.
When I type
$oninit -i
I receive :
This action will initialize INFORMIX-OnLine;
any existing INFORMIX-OnLine databases will NOT be accessible -
Do you wish to continue (y/n)?
In my understand this means that ALL istance will be destroyed, is the
message wrong?
If it isn't, which is the steps I have to do?
Thanks.

No. This is just your basic frenzied dire warning to make sure you know
what you are doing before you possibly trash your server. As long as the
ROOTDBS and/or ROOTOFFS are different in the two ONCONFIG files
initializing a new instance cannot trash another one.
