alarmprogram.sh on deleted enviornment scripts
Hi, Last night someone accidently deleted the files on "/" directory. So envionment scripts for Informix instances, soft links and some other files are deleted. The instances were ok and application was able to read write in the databases, but CPU load was very high. We found that alarmprogram was taking a lot of CPU. So we killed those processes renamed the alaramprogram.sh file. We are not sure how many files are deleted but recreated the soft links as well as Informix enviornment scripts. Still there the following messages are continuously appearing in the log file: 13:51:22 execve() of "/bin/sh /bin/sh -c /u/informix11.5/etc/alarmprogram.sh 1 42 "Event occured" "execve() of "/bin/sh /bin/sh -c /u/informix11.5/etc/alarmprogram.sh 1 42 "Event occured" "execve() of "/bin/sh /bin/sh -c /u/informix11.5/etc/alarmprogram.sh 1 42 "Event occured"" failed errno=2 13:51:22 Error 2 occurred executing /bin/sh /bin/sh -c /u/informix11.5/etc/alarmprogram.sh 1 42 "Event occured" "execve() of "/bin/sh /bin/sh -c /u/informix11.5/etc/ Can someone help what is missing or corrupt. And is there some reference for alaramprogram error codes and their description. regards, Kamran
The errno '2' is because you renamed the alarmprogram.sh Just create an empty executable script named alarmprogram.sh that just has 'exit 0' in it and the messages should stop. Art Art S.
